A Little About Me

Hello Everyone

Vanessa is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the past twelve years. She also is a graduate of a Nutrition and Dietetic Technician program soon to be Registered. She is also an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has studied nutrition for the past eight years. Vanessa has worked with the Geriatrics population in long term care , assisted living facilities , and home care. Even though her career started off as a nurse, her love and passion was for nutrition. Nothing means more to her then educating people about the importance of nutrition for their bodies and health.

Vanessa’s Story:

Vanessa is loving her journey into the field of nutrition. She discovered her love for nutrition early into her college years especially as she learned that she had Acid Reflux at the age of twenty-three. Even though Acid Reflux seems like something that is not that serious it actually is. She was diagnosed with Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR) also know as Silent Reflux. She had the symptoms years before she was diagnosed but didn’t realize until after she was diagnosed it was the reflux all along. She struggled to manage the reflux and with repeated episodes of acid hitting her throat and having a 30 pound unintentional weight loss due to LPR she decided it was time to make a change for the better and for my nutritional health. It was more than just about Acid Reflux, it was about getting healthy again and becoming a new me.
