About Me

Hi! my name is Vanessa. I am twenty-nine years old. I am a Licensed Practical Nurse for past 10 years. I received my Associates Degree in General Studies May 2015 from Central Arizona College and the concentration was Dietetics. Prior to that, I began my journey to studying nutrition at Laguardia Community College. With my Associates Degree through Central Arizona College, I received a certification as a Community Nutrition Worker, along with certification for Diabetes Care and Education, and Nutrition and Health Promotion. I am also a Certified Nutrition Coach through NAFC (National Association For Fitness Certification). This year I completed and received my bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University in Health Sciences.

My journey is far from over it’s just beginning and nutrition will always have my heart. I discovered my love for nutrition early into my college years especially as I learned that I had Acid Reflux Disease at the age of twenty-three. Even though Acid Reflux seems like something that is not that serious it actually is. I was diagnosed with Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR) also know as Silent Reflux. I had the symptoms years before I was diagnosed but didn’t realize until after I was diagnosed and did more research it was the Reflux all along. I struggled to manage the Reflux and with repeated episodes of acid hitting my throat I decided it was time to make a change for the better and for my nutritional health. It was more than just about Acid Reflux, it was about getting healthy again and becoming a new me.

So my goal is to help you become a NEW YOU!
